Social Wellness Month: Nourishing Relationships for a Happier, Healthier You
July 25, 2018
Acts of support do not have to be extravagant. Practicing good social wellness can mean listening to a friend or sharing a meal with your family. Small acts like this can enhance your social well-being in tremendous ways.
While it is beneficial to strengthen relationships with others, it is just as important to develop a positive relationship with yourself. When you are taking care of others, it is easy to forget to take care of your own biggest cheerleader: you!
Take time out of your day to focus on building a positive body image, maintaining mindful eating habits, and improving other aspects of your mental and physical health.
Here are a few ways you can celebrate Social Wellness Month:
– Get active with your family and friends. Going for a hike or swim with people you love is a great way to bond and exercise at the same time.
– Participate in community events. Many communities have parties, volunteer events, and other ways to stay involved. This can help you form new relationships within your community.
– Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Life can be stressful, and you do not have to go through it alone. Leaning on a friend or family member can help you improve yourself.
Positive social wellness is key to a happier, healthier self and community. This month, go the extra mile to take care of yourself and those around you.
